Changthang Jeep Safari
A journey from Leh towards the village of Korzok, our final destination, on the shores of Lake Moriri is in contrast to some other in Ladakh. The Leh - Manali road initial goes more than one with the highest passes in the region, more than the amazing Taklang La (5260m). From here we strike off the Manali road east on a rough track across the basin with the twin lakes, Startsapuk-Tso (clean water) and Tso Kar (salt water).

Places that are to be covered are Delhi, Leh, Shanti Stupa, Sangkar Gompa, Shey, Thikse, Hemis, Likir Gompa and Alchi Gompa, Lamayuru Gompa, Rangdum, Karsha, Zangla Castle, Stongde Gompa, Bardan Gompa, Parkhachik, Mulbekh, Agra. Likir Gompa and Alchi Gompa; picnic lunch, overnight at Uletokpo Camp.

Places to be covered are Leh, Shanti Stupa, Sangkar Gompa, Likir Gompa, Drok-pa villages, Ridzong Gompa, Alchi Gompa, Uletokpo Camp, Agra. Likir Gompa and Alchi Gompa; picnic lunch, overnight at Uletokpo Camp. Drive to Uletokpo Camp, afternoon visit the Ridzong Gompa and nunnery, overnight at Uletokpo Camp.

Our jeep/bike tours start to and from Leh, Manali, Dharamsala, Shimla, Spiti, Keylong and Kashmir. Drive to Nubra Valley crossing the highest pass of the region, the Khardong La (5602m); hotel in Diskit. Visit Diskit Gompa (now a major branch of Thikse Gompa), Hunder, and Bactrian camel farm; picnic lunch; return to hotel.
